Oak Harbor Freight Lines Stays Ahead of the Curve with DDC FPO
So why does Oak Harbor Freight Lines depend upon DDC FPO for both front and back-office solutions?
Even under the best of conditions, moving products from point A to point B isn’t without its obstacles: port backlogs, manufacturing bottlenecks, weather hazards, accidents, fuel inflation, government mandates and so on. Technology is essential to ensuring the smoothest possible journey. As such, a trucking operation must be prepared from the outset. Literally so, as the first mile is where issues can begin.
According to Richard Greening, DDC’s global technical director, Robert Rosales and Oak Harbor have their bases covered. “The Oak Harbor team takes a proactive approach to optimization and preparedness,” Greening says. “They are committed to maintaining the highest quality service possible.”
Oak Harbor and DDC have that in common. That’s why both companies value timely, accurate data.
For example, to help carriers harness the power of first-mile data, DDC created DDC Sync, a mobile app with in-cab smart OCR BOL capture. Greening says the app allows for a six-hour head start (on average) on visibility per load.
DDC Sync complements DDC’s other freight billing services and innovations, which include AI processing.
When asked about other trends that DDC is watching, Greening listed blockchain, 5G, RPA and predictive analytics. He did not disclose which of these, of any, DDC may be working on under the radar
